Adding subwoofer to 00 Expedition

I plan on adding a clarion amplified sub enclosure to my stock premium (lol) stereo this week and it is made to go in the rear side pouch of the expedition. Crutchfield said they would provide the harness so that it would plug directly into the back of my stock head unit. Does this sound ok seems like it would be pretty basic & easy except for pulling the carpet & interior to run the cable from back to rear. I recently also added a kenwood cd changer and it was pretty much a plug & play and I think there was a couple of extra plug ins on the back deck but do not remember what they are for. Any advice would be appreciated. Now if I can just figure out why the stereo shuts off when putting the transmission into drive or reverse, I will be all set.

I am beginning to hear this alot. Nothing I know that you can do, aside from replacing the radio.

Sounds like it will work, if thats what you want.

Do you have a more specific question?

I am actually going to bite the bullet and take it into a shop but they cant get to it for a couple of days because of christmas. It is making some weird noises from under the steering wheel near the fuse box when the battery is hooked up so I disconnected it and I am going to have it towed in to be safe. I only heard of one other 00 expedition doing this before. Hopefully it is not too serious ($$$) !

Sorry to hear about that. I just meant, I have been hearing alot of funny business where the stock stereo is concerned. I had an infinity once that, at the press of a button, you never knew what would happen. Sometimes the radio would come one, sometimes the cd player. I just kept pressing the buttons until something I liked happened. Good luck.:-X12
