Hello, I am trying to figer how much sag i have and how much lift is on my truck. I have a 1989 F250 with HD towing leaf springs front and back with what i think is a factory block under the rear springs. can anyone tell me what it should be from center of wheel to edge of fender?? front and back. Thankyou
If you have factory blocks, factory springs, and and no extras and factory wheels and tires than you must have factory HIEGTH in the rear and NORMAL factory reverse spring sag in the front. I have the same 89' f250 excab 4x4 460 hd and before I put my 4 inch lift on it was normal due to all the heavy duty equipment on it from the factory.
Thanks for the responce guys. and yes that is what i am tring to figer. the blocks in the rear, I thought was stock. the guy at the shop told me they were to big to be factory. I know i never added to it so i thought if i knew how high the fender rode off the center of wheel on stock i could be sure of what was thier.
My 87 has a blocks about 3 inches tall on the rear axle, Thats a rough guess but I could walk out back and look to be more accurate.
The front stock IFS right? it would need drop down brackets to lower the pivot points to go with the positive arced springs needed if it had a lift up front. You'd notice that right off I'd think.
It would probably have a 4" drop pitman arm to go with it.
if the 250s had 2" and 350s 4" i am not sure whats all under their. I got this truck about 15 years ago and have used it hard here on the farm amd long distance halling the horses. with very little trouble i might add. Was told when i got it that it was set up extra for towing 5th wheel. the block is 4inch and it is a 250XLT. it has the iron blocks with a spear out the front in back and 4 leaf springs in the pack on the front. whats the best way for me to tell how long of shocks i should get to put on this thing now??
