Everyone...I am getting together things to do the new 2005 front end swap out. First question I have is this....
The header panel that is in my 1999....is it made of plastic? I see a piece of black plastic that runs from side to side that the head light plastics is screwed into. It is right behind my grille and right under that floppy plastic covering that is on top by the jack tools.
I think its made out of a light, cheap, fiber glass type material thats black and i guess could be described as plasticy . I think? Bump - wait for someone who knows more.
Yeah the header panel, its what you cut into to do the zoodad. Harnesses the lights and the grille, at both top and bottom. I changed mine out so it wouldn't be a --lf-assed install, wasnt too expensive, and it's only held in by like 8x 8mm bolts.
No its easy - Took me all of about 25 min. Just cut a hole in the correct area leading to the air intake. No proven gains but im sure it delivers much more cold air then the stock setup. Also - rain or snow will not enter and affect the filter element at all. Its a pretty neat little mod. Try it out with a 6637 and its killer
I cut the zoodad into my 07 header panel before i installed it. Just used a die grinder with a steel cutting wheel, then smoothed the edges. Air it down and it's already done.
