headers bolts 460

im installing headers on my truck, 89 f 250 , 460.... i got all the bolts in but one. it is on the driver side. its the first bolt from left to right. it feels like the hole is worn out or it needs a bigger bolt. dont know what to do. can i just leave it with out the bolt? anyone with any ideas?

Check the hole with the header off. If you can screw the bolt in, drill the header flange bolt hole larger. You need all of the bolts installed. I had the same problem with a set of L&L headers that I installed on my 460.

I installed some headers on my 460 and the same thing was an issue on my 2nd bolt though. So I drilled it and installed a Helicoil. Can you get to it enough to drill it and insert a Helicoil? I would think that the 1st bolt missing would definitely lead to some leaking of the headers.

My $0.02 worth...

going to try a bigger bolt. sucks because i have to take the hardest side out allover again. they were beautiful chrome before now they are all scratched up. i also bought stage 8 locking bolts and the bolts are so close to the pipes that the lock wont fit over the bolt nor a ratchet.
