I'm sure someone must have an alarm installed in their expy I was wondering if your puddle lights, running board lights, dome lights, etc. still fade on and off when locking and unlocking the truck with your aftermarket alarm installed?
The lights should work the same as they are hooked to a timmed switch. if they do not you can jump wires to the existing time delated lights to get the samr results.
I haven't had the alarm installed yet. I was speaking with an installer and he said that the alarm (code srt6700) dome supervision output was a timed 30second output and that he typically ties it into the domelight switch behind the dash. He said that the lights would no longer fade on and off, rather they would come directly on and then turn off after 30 seconds.
SOB Racing,
Do you happen to know which wire(s) to tie into? The issue the installer brought up was that the GEM disables the lights after a certain amount of time and that the door trigger wire would not be able to turn them on. For whatever reason, he said tying directly into the switch allows you to turn on the lights regardless of the GEM status.
I had the dealer install the factory alarm on mine when I got it. It cost me about the same price as an aftermarket and everything worked like it was supposed to. No issues with lighting or hatch popping and it comes with remote start.
1. Has anyone ever heard a car alarm go off? Sure you have.
2. Has anyone ever seen anyone do anything about it? ...
Factory alarm accomplished all the things an aftermarket alarm does...

This is why I got the Viper 5900 TWO-WAY alarm system; it will alert me up to one mile away, either by beeping or vibrating the remote transmitter
I can remote start it from one mile away, it auto locks the door in 30 seconds after you turn it off, (with key in or out) and you cannot restart it without disabling the alarm. It does a ton of other cool stuff too.
