I have a 2001 ranger with the stock am/fm radio in it. I'd like to install a stock am/fm cd player unit from a ranger of the same year. My question is can I just swap them or will I have to make any kind of wiring harness changes because of the new unit having a cd player. Thanks.
it should work...all you basicly need is powerwire and ground....this makes the thing work....then just rig up the speaker wires... the harness going into the back of the factory radio/cdplayer should have a sticker saying what each wire is....look at both stickers of radio and of your cd player and see if they are the same..
Hi, I'm getting ready to do the same in my 2001 Screw.
The Ford CD Cassette player I got is numbered YU3F-18C868-AA, which should be the same as the one you are looking at? I have not pulled the stock one yet, but see 2 plug slots on the new one, while my manual seems to show one flat white connector for the stock item.
Have you got yours going yet and did you have to cut wires or get any adapter? Sure don't want to cut anything!
