2 Cycle Additive Going Great

I added 2 cycle oil to the fuel and is going great. noticed a fuel millage increase, looks like i gained 4 to 5 more miles per gallon so far. didnt see no difference in being quieter but feels to have a little more power around 2000 rpm's. and also extra lube never hurts.

4 to 5? Wow thats double my increase but my routes and use varies so much it is hard to make science out of my milage. Biggest noticable change for me was quieted to engine down a bunch, starts easier, idles smoother..

I have been putting 1oz. per gal.
I do not have the results above but it is def better.....8 bucks for a gallon at wally world so it is very cost efficient.

I'm getting 16.5 - 17mpg going to work right now. That short trips on gravel roads so I can't complain.

i have seen no increase in mileage at 1oz:1gal. 17.5 before, 17.5 after. i drive it about 500-600 miles a week. the piece of mind knowing things are lubed up makes the whole thing worth it though.

You Got To Figure If It Lubes A 2 Cycle Engine It Should Do The Same To The Injectors On A Diesel, A Diesel Motor Is Considered A 2 Stroke Motor The Way It Fires. A 2 Stroke Motor Like A Weed Eater Gets Its Lube From The 2 Cycle Oil In The Gas, It Would Burn Up Without It. Something To Think About. So Far So Good With Mine.

Do you run stanadyne in the winter too? It seems like it dosen't work so well as a antigel.

Pavement, I think your forgetting that we DO have crank case oil. Your anology of burning up like a weedeater is off. You shouldnt see any fuel mileage increase. If anything, you should see it fall. the 2 stroke oil is not a power adder. It burns at a MUCH lower temp than the diesel fuel. Your going to notice more smoke due the oil burning at a earlier point in the combustion cycle, due to the pressure of ignition principal that the diesel motor utilizes. Because your mixing this more volitile substance in with your oil, your limiting the amount of fuel that our puney stock injectors flow anyhow, simply beacuse oil is in the mix. Now since we are literally talking about an ounce per gallon, it isnt going to do much. The reason that your noticeing a smoother idle and less noise is due to the ignition cycle being earlier in the stroke from the lower flash point of the oil. I would be surious to see how much it lowers the ignition point. Its almost like adding a split shot injector system in theory (only for the noise factor though.) Does anyone else here agree, or do you think I am way off???

IT doesnt smoke any at all. and the extra oil in the fuel couldnt hurt at all. and yes i did see a increase in mpg for sure i checked it at the pump today.

If I remember right 2 stroke as more BTU's than diesel. That's why boat engines and power plant engines run a thicker fuel oil. So you should get a little more energy out of the 2 stroke oil. We have been using it as an additive when we tractor pull, and the extra lube is always good. Ecspecialy with the new fuel which has less lubricant than it did before. Just the way I see it. People can talk about fuels forever.

I am going to look it up. The way I think it is is that the oil IS more BTUs, but it has a lower flash point. Hence preignition. I wil research tomroow and post back.

I don't mean to argue with you, but if oil has a lower flash point (which I agree) then isn't harder to burn which would been a delayed ignition after the diesel fuel ignites and gets it burning? That's probably why it idles quieter the fuel is burning slighty longer.
