Torque specs help

I'm about to go do my WW and donuts and would like to know specs on everything I'll be removing. I was surprised this info was not in the WW install instructions. So.... Does anyone know the specs on:

IC Boot Clamps 60inlb?
Compressor outlet to Y-pipe
Downpipe clamp
Uppipe Collector clamp
Pedestal Bolts
Compressor Housing Bolts
Turbine Housing Bolts
Donut gasket bolts
EBV Housing bolts

I was also told by a local shop to torque the new wheel to 100inlb. Is this right?

Thanks!!!!

Why are you taking the turbine housing off if all you are doing is the WW?

I've just read directions in another post and it says to remove the EBV housing. Contradicts the dieselsite instructions, but makes more sense to me. I just don't want to under-torque anything and have leaks. German torque I guess. My main concern is the two pedestal bolts.

Also. The wheel is self tightening....just get it snug and it will torque itself. I wouldn't worry about the torque on the clamps. As tight as you can get them without crushing the tubes is about right. Torque the housing and collector bolts to 70-85 in.lbs (loc-tite on the exhaust side) the turbo mount bolts to 18 ft.lbs.

I don't know your name. Can I just call you 01?

Here's a site you can bookmark for future reference. 2001 Workshop Manual

Go to 3 Powertrain, select 03 engine, then section 303-04d fuel charging and controls - turbocharger. There you can go down to the removal and installation instructions. It contains the torque specs you're looking for.

Hope that helps you 01.

Probably not. But if it says remove the four turbine housing bolts it's adding extra steps. If anything you would need to remove the EBPV housing to hold the opposite wheel, but it has seven bolts.

All you really need to do is get the intake housing off and find an easy way to secure the turbine wheel to get the intake wheel off. You could even tape up a screwdriver and wedge it in the turbine wheel....but I don't like that method. Generally I'll remove the seven bolts holding the EBPV housing and hold the turbine end of the shaft with a pair of vice grips.

I just finished doing that, thanks. I thought I'd do the EBV delete while I had the housing off. ******* file...... Going to get a dremel right now.

Glad to see you're name down there Mike. I guess my link was too slow anyway since Scott jumped in there and answered your questions. We're lucky to have him around here.
