If you have two saddle tanks, they are not genuine Ford.
Ford only added (as an option) one auxillary tank to 1967/72 pickups.
The factory filler neck comes out of the bed about a foot in front of the front lip of the rear wheel opening, below the bumpside.
The sending unit or the float is available for the incab tank. Will these senders/floats work on saddle tanks? Dunno.
Check your present floats, they may have gas inside them, one reason why the gauges are not accurate. That's what usually happens to the Ford floats.
Gas cap: You may be able to use the type Ford used 1953/72, which is the same one the incab tank uses.
yes i checked the floats they are fine, its just the wire track that gives the signal that is worn ,has printed date 1973,so i cant complain about quality.
but yes it doesnt seem like the tank was made by ford, but still they are pretty cool.and the cap they use is different from the one in the cab due to clearence between the bed inner wall and the outside fender panel.
if you senders have screw type flanges stewart warner did make a unit that will work with ford guages
check with a parts house that sells heavy truck parts
