Your profile says CA, where are you located? That 429CJ sounds awful tempting...

If the truck's in good shape, don't scrap it. I just got rid of the cab from my 79 on craigslist for free. Just needed it gone, but it was in too good of shape to scrap it. Guy that came and got it had cab cancer from hell...

Part it out if you want money. Sell it whole if it's in good shape, but you just want rid of it. And scrap it out if it's beat.

I just drove my '76 F350 to the scrap yard a month ago and got $526.00 for it. It had a 390 and a 4 speed.

My guess is that you would get the most money if you sell any parts you can, then scrap what's left.

At least part it out if you don't want to sell it whole but dont scrap it. I have a hard enough time finding parts for my truck.

Anymore it seems like you can get more parting a vehicle out than you can selling it whole. Scraping it would be the easy way, but I agree, someone could really use a lot of the parts.

IF it's in good condition, try to sell it or part it out.

To many of these trucks are going to the crusher, and they are getting harder to find.

They don't make these anymore so you would be doing a favor to the old Ford people buy selling it.

If that is an actual 429cj, and it runs, it will be worth more than $500 for just the engine. Hell even if its a regular 429 I bet someone would still buy a runner for the same amount. I sold a torn apart regular 429 from a demolition car, the parts were all rusty from rain and I still was paid $200 for it.
Even with today's fuel prices, most of the bigblocks disappear from the local wrecker where I live.
