97 or 99 What do you think?

I have a choice between a 97 F-350 7.3 XLT crewcab with 180,000 miles and a 99 F-250 7.3 Superduty XLT crewcab with 245,000 on it. Both are about equal in obvious ways, paint interior ... Any thoughts as to which is better and why? Thanks

i'd go for the 97 it has less miles and is a 1 ton so you will be able to load it up more "legally" and if the 99 is an early model you won't gain much.

welcome to FTE...it depends on your plans..if your looking for a hot rod..id go with the 99..the early bird is a little smaller then the 99.5..like most of us we add after market injectors, pumps, turbo and other go fast stuff..so it doesnt really matter at that point...the end results you will have more and better power with the 99..the early bird was built before 12/7/98..look at the door stick for a build date..or open the hood and look at the spider..if it looks like the orange in this pic..its the late 99..click on pic..

also print this out and check off every thing..if it looks good..you will have a good truck no matter what year it is..
