I have a 94 F250 with 7.3 IDI that is basically shot. I have found a reasonably priced power stroke (2000 model). Is it feasible to upgrade to a power stroke engine?
The IDI is a mechanical controlled engine, throttle cable.
The Power Stroke is a fly by wire engine.
The throttle is hooked to the computer by electrical connections, the computer tells the injectors what to do.
It has been done by several people, but so far everyone that has attempted this has bought a complete wrecked donor truck to get all the parts required from.
Lots of wiring, expect several days running wires to get it to run.
