hey guys, i need some help scott, if u go to my page u will c the 56 bbw i'm throwing together with the cobra engine, problem is with the jag front the oil filter canister fouls on the rail forcing my to ofset the engine to the drivers side. i notice in one of the magazines they r fitting a 3valve engine in a 68 - 72 truck and in the photo's the oil filter faces a different dirrection allowing them more room, but i also noticed the power steer/air con isn't fitted yet, when u go to work can u findout if there is a different housing ford aus do so i can aim this in a different direction.
also if i give u 2 names of a dark green ford aus used in 56, can u findout if both were available on trucks?
have u got either truck on the road yet?
cya gary
Hi Gary, good looking work you have there on the 56. I see you also have put a Jag front end on your 56. So where abouts are you in OZ? Take care and hope you find your answer from Scott. Cheers

There are external remote filter mounting kits avaliable for most engines that are popular. They use an adapter that has lines and a renote filter mount.
Gary how much more room do you need ? Can you simply use a shorter filter ?
Some filters are only 3-4 inches long and i don't think you"ll drop any oil preasure, may just mean more frequent filter changes.
To my knowlage the oil filter arrangement used here in aus is the same setup , but will try and confirm it tonight.
The idea of a remote oil filter as stated above is also another option.
As for the colors used here in '56, i can't really help you with that. But if you contact one of the f100 clubs here in aus one of them may be able to help ya out.
Scape, the guy who owns the panel shop is painting my pickup. I am hopeless at painting. His name is Jason, he mainly works on Austin Healeys, MG's and the occasional corvette rolls in. I had a hard time finding the correct paint for my 53, wanted to paint it its original colour Glacier Blue, but couldn't get any decent matches here. So I went with a Ford colour called Gas Light Blue.
Scrape, correct me if I am wrong. I don't think Ford built the F100 here in 56. They where all imported from overseas. They only offered two green colours for the 56, Meadow Mist Green M-2J-16 which is a light colour and the Meadow Green M-14283 which is a dark colour.
