have a v10 surging at idle . buddy has a scanner that says o2 sensors. parts store says there are up and down stream and cant tell me were they are. can only find one on each of the down tubes of manifolds. any idea where other is and if replcing them would solve problem?
What year V10? Many of them don't even have a downstream (after the cat) O2 sensor.
Sometimes, they register three O2 sensors to some scanners and then refuse to display any readings for that "third" o2 sensor (because it's not really there).
I'd replace the IAC first, right after checking all the vacuum hoses. This sounds very familiar, and is usually the IAC.
thanks for the tips, will definately check. read some there posting and found that the PCV had fallen out. helped a little but still having problems. bythe way krewat its a '99.
