And some of us don't. For all of us the future is unpredictable & a vehicle we thought we'd have "for the entire life" has to be sold & then the "miles" can become someone else's "big issue".

I'd thought the odometer was electronic & possibly controled by computer & so it appears to be.
For me "miles ARE a big issue" even though I've only owned my "10 yr old truck" about 10 months, BUT its still only got 12,000 miles on it. Everybody knows a "10 yr old truck" is worth more than a 15 yr old, or 20 yr old truck. IMO it is a very "big deal" if a "10 yr old truck" has 50K, 100K, 150K, 200K or more.
Im sure the people that are willing to buy this dont really cares since there trucks probably arent at new as yours.... its there decision. and they shouldnt need to be accused of "intentionally obscureing" there odometer readings... maybe they just want there truck to look nice... I made my comments in defense of the guys like me that have owned there truck for a very long time, or own a truck with very high miliage and dont really care what it says anymore...
Obviously I "don't really care" about changing the color of discs around gauges, or adding flames.

I "accused" nobody & merely asked a basic Q: "Is this an easy way to intentionally obscure the true mileage, or does the computer replace zero w/actual miles?" Apparently the computer "does" set the odometer, answering my Q. "Im sure" many people "really care" that odometer readings are genuine & IMO any vehicle that's obviously got a replacement odometer might be suspect. The illegal practice of "intentionally obscureing" actual mileage has not gone away & is something most used buyers DO "really care" about.
My pickup was built 2/98 & is only as "new as" any other F150 built then. I've met people who felt a "need" to doubt it has only 12K on it, in essence they "accused" me & my Dad, of "intentionally obscureing" actual mileage. However I've got every document & can prove the extremely low mileage.
Unfortunately there are still ways to alter odometer readings. In a perfect world nobody would ever need to be accused of "intentionally obscureing" their odometer readings. Everyone "shouldnt need" to ever doubt any odometer, sadly the world is less than perfect. Not long ago an FTE member actually asked how to alter odometer readings. At the other end of the spectrum are vintage fans who are proud of high mileages & go out of their way to keep original odometers working.
Regardless if anyone else "really cares" or not, we see that the replacement gauge cluster odometer is set by the computer-b/c I asked the Q & got an A.
yeah i know its an easy fix..but would this fix it..also would my 4x4 and low range lights work on it...i know it says all factory lights work..but it doesnt say if the 4x4 and stuff will

Your 4X4 lights should work.
But,,it wouldn't hurt to ask them before you order it.
