Not sure if this was a 240 or 300. Replaced the low first gear 4 speed:

It'll work. Flex plate, starter, tv cable/linkage adjustment, cooler, shifter, little things, but it'll work like a champ. (look for '88-93 boxes, early trans were real trouble)

Yea, at the moment, my truck has a 240 in it, and it bolted right up to my AOD tranny, fact of the matter is I wasn't even aware that it was a 240 intil the machanic told me how much of a pain the wiring was , I used to have a stout 300-6 in it intil I blew it up, I suppose three holleys was too much afterall :P.

ReadorDie, what are your impressions on this combo? I have swapped a 351w/AOD in my 71shortbed but I can't get the engine to run right. I can probably get a decent 240, but I was worried about the AOD making the 240 a dog.
