I seem to have a pretty good "whistle" now that I did not have before. It sounds like the turbo on boost, but it is not the turbo. The turbo is not on boost until a higher rpm and demand requires it. This started after a long run at this past winter at 60-70 mph. Did I put a hole in the plumbing near the turbo? Any ideas? No affect on performance that I can see, just the "whirrrrr", or you could call it a whistle.

 

Does it do it at a idle? If it does take the belt off to see if it quits. Might be a power steering pump or vacuum pump.

 

Check for intake leaks after the turbo.

what about up-pipe doughnuts? do you smell exhaust in the cab?

 

No exhaust smell. I will look for leaks as it only "whistles" as you step on the accel pedal and increase rpm. I will check pumps too. Thanks!
