292 question

is the 292 worth rebuilding and if it is what would it cost

I had a few 292's and 312's in my old 57.They are are strong engine as for the cost of rebuilding i could'nt tell you.

As I understand it, they are more expensive to rebuild then later engines, but well worth it especially if you are into "original and stock look" (which I am). I have two rebuildable engines which will go in my 64 F100 and my 63 Crew Cab. IMHO nothing else sounds as sweet as a 292 with dual exhausts.

Yep,they sure sound sweet and they'll roast tires all day long too.

how hard are they to find parts for???

You can probably get stock parts through NAPA, they can usually get most anything you need for the older vehicles (I know you can buy longblocks through them). For hot rod and speed parts I'd check w/John Mummert (Y-blocks Forever) or do a google search. You can find rebuild kits on e-bay, but have not idea of the quality or lack thereof.
