Yes, the 1973-1979 F-350 Camper specials are basicly identical, if they say super on them or not.

Is the bed of these trucks still 8ft? The only difference is the spare in the side and the wheel wells moved back?

Yes, the beds are still 8'. Along with the spare in the side and the longer wheel base, the beds also have narrower bolt spacing as the frames on these trucks are 34" front to rear like a chassis cab.

so I don't remember what truck it was. I might be wrong but I think I saw a truck the other day that had a 10ft bed and they called it a Super Camper Special. I think it was on this site.

The must have been mistaken. Ford didn't make a 10ft bed.

I know that Chevy/GMC back in the late 60's/early 70's made a truck with a 9' bed. They called it a Longhorn. I've never heard of a Ford pickup with a bed longer than 8'.

That's way before my time. Another reason why people should never say never.

Do you have any good pics of the wheels? I think I may have a set, but I'm looking for some confirmation. The wheels I have seem to be about 10" or 11" wide.

Starting in 80, Ford dropped the 140" wheelbase.
So were there 133" and 140" wheelbase Camper Specials '77 - '79?
