1996 F350 7.3 power stroke, 188,000 miles. Had the truck about a week. Was sitting at a railroad track waiting for trian to pass and it just dies like you turned off the key. started right back up. ran about 100 miles and it sounded like it was shutting off but caught back up. was pulling a gooseneck with 2 others on top about 10,000#. It sounds like I got CPS problems. What do you guys think?
Okay, so when I'm cranking the truck if the tach doesn't move then most likely I have a cps issue. what about fuel filters? not sure when these were changed since I just got the truck.
Thanks, I'm going to get it changed. I read on some other forums that you should get a particular color. Something about the original one is black and the replacemnet one is blue. Any ideas on that???
No don't get the blue one. that is for the IH DT466. It works in our trucks but get the newest gray sensor. Its cheapest of them all at about $20 compared to the Black (original) and the Blue ones at $120-150
Dealer! Not sure what AZ carries. Might be motorcraft might not be. If you need the truck today and AZ has one get that to get the truck running then get a Ford one Tuesday and put the AZ one in the glove box.
