Carb rebuild help

Hey guys/gals....My 85 f150, 351w, 2 barrel is shot and I have to rebuild it.
The problem is....there is no ID tag on it. It's a motorcraft carb...thats all I can give, what came on these trucks normally? Having a hard time finding the kit

Most rebuild kits cover several years and many specification numbers. The kits aren't generic, but if you have the model year, engine size and transmission type, most good auto parts guys can get you the correct kit. You may have some problems with pump hole settings and float level without the tag number, but you should be able to get it close enough to get it running so that you can "tweak" those items. Even when you have the tag number you often have to make minor adjustments.

Yes, the parts store should be able to give you a kit by the year and engine you have. The kits do cover many models. Most of the time, if you just replace the diaphragms and gaskets and other rubber parts, you do not have to make any major adjustments other than the float level. I would write down which hole the pump arm goes in, and stuff like that.

Identification numbers should also be stamped on the bowl riser. Either in the front or back.
