Made some progress yesterday ; I've been working on getting the wiring harness through the firewall. Soldered all leads passing throught the firewall; now routing and eliminating circuits from donor harness as I go. Of course I "misplaced" the Chilton manual I had for the donor. I got the ignition switch back in , using a series, push, pull start circuit. Hoped to use the throttle **** on the pull switch but haven't come up with how to fit to the after market one yet. Put the battery back in, hope to work on it today.

Bad plan, once you start doing that kind of work your truck time will continue to decline. You have to have discipline and a rule that it is truck work only! Of course you will be doing the cooking and your own clothes washing by yourself but sacrifices have to be made!
My wife wanting patio pavers also. I cussed and dug out the area all the while gently steering the converstation to concrete whenever I could. Finally one day my neighbor was over and we tag teamed her, the next weekend I was able to pour some concrete.
Heck, I even got it done in time that morning to go to a car show in the afternoon....lol
When I did my wire harness (I used the EZ Wiring 21 circuit harness) and I need to make a butt connection or a end terminal. I used the standard crimp on terminals but I didn't crimp them. Instead, with a small punch I pushed the terminals out of the plastic sleeve and then I soldered them onto the wires and then covered it with heat shrink tubing. I found it made a neater looking connections.
The crimping process always bends the connector slightly and I don't relly like the look of the colored plastic sleeves everywhere.
Bobby , I gave the soldering connectors to wire some thought, will have another go at it. I'm roughing in everything, tracing wires, get it running then final wiring clean-up. I hear you on the concrete, actually I have 300 sq ft to lay, did 100 sq today in the rain ! Wet wife, am eating my own cooking tonight.
I seem to have way too many wires going to start and run terminals because of the EFI, I 'm considering some sort of splitter to get rid of clutter.
Wow! I just love that Sheridan Blue, I've been leaning in that direction (of course it will be several years before I can even begin to think seriously about it)
Those late model gauges look excellent in the cluster! What will you use for a speedo head?
Keep plugging away a it, that is going to be one sweet truck!

I've been looking at speedos, want close to stock look but have electric speed sensor so need to go with donor that matches up. I'm going to haunt wreckers this summer for candidates, Ford preferred. I hope to have wiring complete in 10 days , on my next days off.
That might be a bit of a problem. You will probalby end up having to carve the actual speedometer gauge out of a complete cluster as most late model (electronic) gauges are unitized. I'm guessing that Ford went to all electric gauges somewhere in the late 80's early 90's so there's bound to be something that will work.
Worst case scenario is having to work up your own faceplate for a late model guage
