so at the shifters show n shine tonight the previous owner showed up in my "sold" mustang. He offered me $10k for the truck back. I looked at how he has maintained my car these last 2 years and turned him down (not that i considered it). If i knew the kind of condition the car was in I would never have posted it in the want ads on here. He spouted some sad sob story about finding photos of it and his friends and junk and tried makingme feel sorry for him. Shes all mine tho.
Did that 10K include the parts you ghave for it not on it yet?
He sounds like a jerk off but 10 K can buy you 2 53-56's in half decent shape..... hate sounding like a devils advocate
But yet I'm glad you said no.
If you find any real nicely done 53-6 100`s for $10 K`s I`d be real seriously interested. I`ve got close to that in my 56 M100 frame off with a pile of hours in it already and the end is still aways away.......
well kinda in Fom's case there was building the rotiserie, fabrication of the frame, rebuilding the brakes, rebuilding the rear, painting the frame (zero rust/por 15 is like 120/gallon) new bushings for suspension, front clip and various fabrication for that, fuel and brake lines. that kinda stuff, it all adds up. Not to mention the man hours
well it started as custom with the first frame except i think the rear is stock. Later he decided to switch it with the 53 hes got so the 53 has the clipped frame and the 56 now has a redone 53 frame which are identicle except for the motor mounts
A good commercial grade paint/body work job is in the $3,500 to $7,000 range. This only gets you a nice driver, nothing fancy to win shows. A crate engine is $6,000 up as well, then add a transmission, some nice mags/tires and ......
Just consider the price of what new vehicles are commanding, redoing an old one properly is isn`t much cheaper unless you do all the work yourself and get parts at less than wholesale.
