So I had a friend of mine get me a tranny filter at Napa just because he could save me some crumbs, witch is always a good thing these days. So I was looking at the filter tonight and beside the part number said E40D part number 19739. Thats not the tranny I have. The last time I looked its was a 4R100, right? On the sales slip it says 2002 F250 super duty. Does this filter fit both trannys? On Napas site that part number comes up for my truck. Can someone help me before I drop the pan and wuala wrong filter..... Its was a cheby guy who got it for me, what was I thinking.........
Hey Jeremy,
I think the 4R100 is basically a reworked E4OD with more electronics. Some one else will chime in soon to either confirm or set it straight. Give it a day or so and you will know.

Just looking around the internet I notice that the Ford sites list 2 filters for the E4OD. One of them is the same price as the 4100 filter, but they don't list part numbers so who knows. I also noticed Napaonline lists 3 filters for the tranny (under E4OD/4100) but they have notes to re-use the OEM gasket since the gasket in their kit does not meet specs.
I can't give you any more info than that since I have a hand shaker and don't have to deal with tranny filters.
That would fit, but I think that one is for the shallow pan. Part # 17954 is for the deep pan. I see that you have a 4x4 so I assume that you have the deep pan. If not, then that is the right part.
This is the filter I have. Its the 19739, very top one. I didn't know there was a differance in pans. My price was $15 but whats a discount if it the wrong one. So what you guys think on that filter?
