Hello,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> I have been working on my 63 for about a year now, and got the engine to fire up last week. I am trying to get the wiring done now. I saw a fuse/relay box in a 94 F150 that looked great. However I can't fine the correct connectors to latch into the box. The connectors look similar to the universal female spade, but they are thicker and have square holes in them to latch into the box. There are two sizes; one to fit the maxi fuses and the smaller one to fit the relays. Does any one know a source for these? My local ford man could not find a part number for them. I would greatly appreciate any help. <o></o> <o></o> Thank you<o></o> Tim<o></o>
Tim, first and foremost, welcome to FTE!! Assuming referring to 94 electrical connectors and not the 63. Posting link for connectors that seem to fit your description. I have not purchased from the company, can't speak to quality. Rewired 65 F100 found local Napa Auto parts had a limited supply of early model connectors, not on the display rack, but at the parts counter. I have couple other auto elect. supply links but primarily for early model vehicles.
The last link is a listing of part number out of catalog for my 65 F100, not sure which yrs. the connectors cover.
May try posting question in the 94 truck forum and inquire, explaining what you are trying to do and if a member has the part numbers. Find it hard to believe sales person at the Ford parts counter could not come up with a number. Perhaps 'numbersdummy' will come across this thread and be able to help you, not certain he would have manuals for the later model trucks. Good luck!!
Dave -Thank you very much, I saw the connectors I'm looking for. - Tim
Tim, welcome to FTE
Dave, I now have parts catalogs thru 2002 for trucks, thru 1991 for cars.
Worthless trivia: Packard in your link refers to Packard Electric, a Division of GM since the mid 19teens.
Packard Electric spawned the Packard Motor Car Company car in 1899. After the Packard Brothers lost control of the car company, Packard Electric was sold to GM.
Thank you, NumberDummy. I have another question. Trun signals. I removed the switch from the column and there are 6 wires. OK, two for left side, two for right side. In the center position, I think one is from a fused "flasher", what is the other center wire connected to?
Again, thank you.
Tim
Suggest try running a search under the title and narrow field to the 61-66 forum. Came across link posted below, there is a list of the wire codes may find helpful. The thread also has a pic of wiring diag. If it appears you will be getting into rewiring the 63, you may want to consider purchasing a wiring diag. found it very helpful in rewiring 65F100. Don't get the laminated type, I purchased 1 and found it useless.
