I can't seem to get a good bite on the nut on the sensor. Part of the manifold is in the way and there is a piece if metal that the wheel well attaches to is also in the way. Any help on takin this off would be appreciated and what size the original nut is.
Most O2 sensors are 7/8. They make a special socket for them. I got the one off my 302 from underneath with the truck on a lift with that special socket.
I bought that special tool but couldnt use it cus the firewall was in the way. I managed to get a wrench on it n broke it loose, Now that i changed it, my truck seems to be runnin really rich. I got a 3 inch exhaust on it n its poppin like a 2 inch pipe normally does. That 3 inch should just groan and not pop.
I had the battery diconnected to reset the computer while i changed it.
Ford really put those in a bad spot, but after having the same problems you had.
I ended up getting a tool from Snap-On that works great. I'm able to use a 3/8 swivel head ratchet with this.

Run the diagnostic codes and see what that reveals.
I found out why it was running rich. I forgot I took off the pollution pump since I couldnt hook it up anyway since the holes on the back of the motor were cemented shut.
