thump or whooomp sound...?
hey guys, i have a bit of a weird sound coming from my truck right after i start it, or sometimes right after i come to a stop with the truck idling. it sounds like someone is giving a light kick to the bottom of the truck near the firewall (kinda like a low whooomp). nothing else is happening as far as ill driving behaviors (no codes either). its not an earth shattering sound, but my buddy heard it too without me letting him know before hand. any idea's? my truck is going to be off warranty soon so i'll probably take it in, but was wondering if any of you had any idea's. thanks

I had the same thing in my 04. The shop told me it was the air conditioner condenser that was jumping as the pump kicked on. Their solution to the problem was to zip tie the condenser lines down to the frame so they couldn't move. I got so pissed I just left it make the noise. They actually replaced the heater/air conditioner controls and the entire heater box. That didn't help and they said they were not going to do any thing more to it and it was normal. You can verify by looking under the hood while the truck is running with the ac on and watch your condenser. It did move on mine every time the pump kicked on.
