Dp Tuner ??

I'm getting ready 2 jump in the pool . I was wondering aside from the usuals what other tunes do they offer ?? I have read about a few like the drive thru, and the decel . I was wondering what others r there and what those that have them think of them... ... so far im thinking no start stock high idle 60t 80e 140smoke an maybe the decel when i understand more about it..
lope idle sounds like a possibility 2
All ideas and opinions wanted !!!

Sounds like you have a handle on it. If you tow a lots, you might think about the 40t, if you tow in the hills. Talk to Jody and he can be the most help. I love my 140 smoke.

You might want to ask him about the new super smoke tune as well. From what I gather the decel tune works just like an exhaust brake. Lets say that you are in 60t and you are about to decend down a steep hill. You would simply switch to the decel tune and your ebpv will close causing backpressure and the motor to hold you back some. Hope this helps.

I am thinking about a chip for a little more power while towing, nothing more since this isn't my DD.

I already have gauges in the car, is it necessary to do intake/exhaust mods? From my experience with other vehicles these more show than anyhting else.

no its not needed but very recomended....to take full advantage of a DP..doing the air filter and exhaust is best...it will keep the EGT's down alot better..it will also add a little better power....you can get a 6637 air filter from napa for 50 bucks.. then if you cant swing a 4" exhaust..at least cut the cat and muffler off....the 6637 filter mod you can find in my mods and fixes link in my sig...good luck..

yup the 140 rocks and the 80e is amazing. I tried to save a few buck by not getting the lope idle and now I wish I would have got it.

I tow a costruction trailer alot...the decel is for just that, air brake coming down hills you don't drive in it. works really well, will save pads/rotors....

I've had mine all of two days now, and it's the best money I've spent in a while

mine has three positions
stock
60hp tow
80hp economy

if I had thought about it, I would have ordered a no-start as well..

what size is the stock exhaust? not 4" is it?

maybe I'll pick up a filter, EGT is nice, but I haven't even passed 1k while towing yet then again, it's cold and in seattle.

aren't pads and rotors cheaper than an engine?

what i meant was that being in decel tune acts like a compression brake so you use your brakes much less while descending grades with a load

I got stock, high idle(1200) rpm's,lope idle,60tow,80econo and120 race. The lope idle is cool,to me its pretty much a tune to bother people with( the smoke really smells bad),pull up beside a ricer and hit the lope tune and the smoke goes right into his window....classic comedy huh!!by the way I smoked a beamer out today with the 120 race tune,he totally didnt know what to think.A 7300 .lb diesel 4x4 leaving him in smoke,well...sorry ...Im rambling but its hard not too with this topic.

Definately do the 6637 filter. I just did mine yesterday, and it took all of about 15 min. The hardest part is finding the 4" O.D. pipe. (I ended up using a 3 1/2" piece of conduit)
