Im buying a new set of stage 2's for my truck from beans. New injectors are 2400 but remans are 1700. What exactly are remans. And should I just play it safe and go with the new ones. Or is this not that big of a deal. Thanks.
A reman injector is torn apart and rebuilt with new parts. A new injector is just that, brand new all around..
I would not hesitate to get a reman, most of them have a warranty and all the moving parts such as plungers, barrels, nozzles and tips are brand new. I rebuilt mine and it all works perfect!!
I think KWIK did remans and I can't remember if he was pleased or not. Then again, if you're using a different company than he did, it's not an "apples-to-apples" comparison...
I've been kicking around the idea of doing the DIY's to get single-shots... and it'd be nice if there was a way to search for members using the parts you're thinking about running too!!
I heard that it isn't hard, but you realy have to watch what you are doing. How was it for you?
It really wasn't that difficult.. It took about 20 minutes per injector to rebuild them (once I got them out of the truck and on the bench). You just have to go slow and check all the clearances to make sure they are within spec. I kinda enjoyed doing it

Where did you get your kit from to do the rebuild?
You will be fine with the Reman stage 2's... I ran swamps stage 2's for about 30k and loved them. Then went up to hybrids. If you think you might go bigger later, just get a set of hybrids.
So you did the $1185 option - Stage 2 160cc single-shots??? I've been thinking HARD about doing that exact option. So now, in honor of the holiday weekend, I'm going to grill ya!!! LOL
1. Assuming you kept your foot out of it, have you noticed any mileage improvement?
2. Do you get more smoke or less?
3. Do you have a chip? if yes, which one & what tunes?
4. Do you tow? How heavy & how is it after?
Thanks man!! Your input could put me over the edge on this one!!
