I need some help from the big block guy's.I'm dealing with a co-worker on this.He is one of those know it all - done it all types. He saying that a 360 is not a Ford engine.Dodge only made 360's,and the 360 is not a big block. Is there any documentation saying which Ford engines are big blocks that I can print out to prove my point? And I forgot this one-Ford did'nt make a 352,only a 351. I kinda feel sorry for him because he's a diehard bowtie guy.chevy this and chevy that. Thanks guys for the help.
Well this should put his fkn hat on for him. Ford FE engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There are more intuitive reads out there but as a FK U DP***** this will certainly spread the icing on the cake.
along with that you could print out this thread for his stupid azz to read..
bigfoot22, Big block is a chevy term kinda like step side, Ford called the FE series a mid size. Lots of folks call the 429/460 big blocks, and it's hard to argue with so many.
The Ford FE 360 is a truck only engine used from 68 to 76, probably why he hadn't heard of it. It was a first attempt to deal with emissions. Ford detuned a 390 engine using a 352 crank and rods for less compression. Engines have changed a lot since then.
Blowtie airheads are just that. You got to have a head full of mush to be a chevy guy.
They are the only big blocks Ford ever made. 400cid+ were tall blocks. Plus AMC made a 360 bb for the old Jeep Pickups. Ford definitly made a 351, 352, 360, and 390. so your friend deserves a kick in the head with a blue oval on the sole of your shoe!
You really wanna **** off one of those bowtie buffs? Ask 'em how many Chevy Ambulances they see on the road. NONE cause when it comes down to it you want that Blue Oval out front pulling you to the Hospital. They dog on Ford all day but when they need help who do they call? Ghostbusters? No, Ford, exactly.
Tell him the Ford 427 is better than the Chevy 427. Chevy never won LeMans with it like Ford did. And tell him there is no such thing as a Chevy 302. And that it's only a Ford engine. Fight fire with fire. What a dumbazz.

After many years our area is replacing the Econolines with Chevies, mostly due to the PSD 6 liter reliability problems.
Around this area the city and county cops are running the Crown Vics. The state cops are using both the Crown Vics and the Dodge Chargers. Thanks again for the replies.
a Chevy 302 is a 283 w/ a 327 crank; made only 2 years in Camaros (DZ 302 motor). Could be slightly mistaken, not a Chevy nut. I do own a Ford, a Buick, and a Plymouth. Can't stand blind faith in corporate products(, politicians, or religious leaders)...they all built cool stuff and they all built turds. The better one's knowledge, the better understanding.
302 Chev is a 327 w/ 283 crank, ends up 4" bore, 3" stroke.
A 283 with a 327 stroke ends up 3.875 bore, 3.25 stroke, and Chev did do this and it was the 307, unloved by all....
Really, all this stuff, including the vast array of Ford 35X engine sizes, bores, strokes, journal sizes etc, is all at your fingertips these days on the internet. Getting into an arguement about this stuff is silly, and a waste of time. People who get really worked up about it and insist they are right are likely to cause you trouble at some future date when they are "right" about something serious, so make a note to avoid this person like the plague...
Wow, I never knew that about the 302 and the 307. And on a ford site no less. We have the best people. By the by the 307 looks good on paper ( stroked 283, more torque) but it didn't work out in real life for some reason.
