Wow, I never knew that about the 302 and the 307. And on a ford site no less. We have the best people. By the by the 307 looks good on paper ( stroked 283, more torque) but it didn't work out in real life for some reason.
307 was a smog motor, probably had small valves, low compression, the usual power killers. Hot 283s would have had the bigger valve or "fulie" heads, diff cams, compression, all good stuff.
Back to the chev/ford exchange. The truth is, I doubt the chevy guy even knows his chevy stuff. For all the ways Ford approached a 351-2, GM had many variations as well, with journal size, 2 bolt/4 bolt, diff heads etc.
Perhaps a counter question in this case would be "Does it matter?"
"If it DOES matter, we're not going off memory. If it doesn't matter, just be quiet and drink your lemonade...."
He hates the Ford FE,s because he has been beaten by several of them 20+ years older than his failed heartbeat as they say the ROAR of the STAMPEDE overwhelms the thunder of a heartbeat.

Chevy acronyms:
Cheapest Heap Ever Visioned Yet
I have a whole book of these, but do take note that it takes a brain (a ford brain) to come up with acronyms that contain more than four letters. I'm sorry, but I cannot imagine what the remaining vocabulary is of the person that came up with "found on road dead". Com'on cheby boys, step up and play ball!
Hmmm, the letter count is pretty close, but: Farmer's Only Reason to Drink.
Heard it from some lady at a car show, she was making a big fuss over a nicely lifted truck. By her own stardard she must own a fleet of Fords because she was looking dead square at a mid-'60s Chevy grill. LMAO
It was a really nice looking truck, not some cob-job.
