Yeah, we call it amateur weekend. Just love when everyone shows up in their minivan or pimped out ride, breaks out the camping gear they just bought a Walmart 15 minutes ago, and attempt to pitch a tent or better yet, set up their rental pop-up camper. Plus, they borrow your hammer, lighter fluid, bottle opener, flashlight batteries, firewood, fishing bait etc. Then gripe about the bugs, the crowds, high cost of gas and how their kids are miserable. No thanks... OK rant over.
I assume you mean Taylor Park by Gunnison? Nice area. We decided that South Park was close but yet far enough. 2 hour drive and you are away from the world for a while.

LOL...no worries on the gripe session. I know EXACTLY what you mean...which is why we don't do camping on amateur weekends anymore. I have a feeling that a lot of people are going to be more than surprised at how much snow there still is up in some places (or the mud leftover from the runoff). Some people just don't belong in the wilderness, and should never try...it's as simple as that.
Yes, by Taylor I mean Gunnison area. Long drive and Cottonwood pass is a little scary hauling a 25' trailor, but..it's worth it I think. Some days we can ride all day up there and not see a single person. AND..we ran into Malcom Smith up there a few summers ago...he owns a few hilltops up near Tin Cup. First and last time I ever saw my dad turn into a giggling teenage girl.

I shook hands with Carroll Shelby years ago and I thought I wet myself.
You're showing your age typically when those two names mean something to you.... was just reading a motocross mag at lunch and they were talking about David Bailey, Rick Johnson, and others that could truly handle a 500cc two-stroke ... something significantly more difficult than the 250's or 450cc 4-strokes.... toys toys toys...
No kidding - don't rub it in. I have a Mustang that's 2 years older than me in the garage. I also met Jack Roush back in his IMSA (or was it SCCA???) road racing days back in '94 at Knotts Berry Farm, CA for the Mustang Round Up.
Scott Russell is the only 'celeb' I've met, but man what a cool guy! All my racing heroes are getting to retirement age from their sport...good thing it's only them getting old, and not me!!! LOL

I am more into the 4 wheel variety of racing. Those 2 wheel guys are nuts!
But at least I'm not the one with short-term memory loss, especially regarding phone calls!!! LOL
