Got a great deal on some projector headlights.....
When I tried to set them into the housings, they wouldn't recess in far enough.
I ended up drilling out behind the low beam H3 and cutting a lot of the corner off to allow them to set back in.Maybe they're for a different year?
I think they're like lightning lights
Is there a similar light housing that might fit better?Maybe I can get some from a wrecker
What you've got is an early production 97. Ford changed the header panel design in 7/96. The newer panel will bolt right in and you can get an aftermarket one pretty cheap. They are made out of plastic and lot less sturdy but will do the job. I've had one in mine for several years and had no problems.
No, they redesigned the header panel after 5 months of production. It uses less parts. The basic production headlights will swap, one style has a longer stud though. The corner lights are completley different. If you will look at the drivers side door jamb, it will give you the production date of your truck and I bet it is 2/96-6/96.
