truck wont start. it was running fine shut it off for about 45min. ccame back and allit will do is turn over. check fuses, fuel, and hpop resv. the hpop didnt have any oil in it, filled up tried to start the engine still just spins. what cause the hpop resv. to be empty? bad pump?
It's unusual for the HPOP to drain down that quickly. Is your engine oil full? Is the HPOP still full or is it empty again after the start attempt? Check the nut on the end of the IPR and make sure it didn't come off.
Then make sure you check your batteries. Weak batteries will turn the engine what sounds like it's fast enough, but it's not. Maybe try and jump start it to see if that helps.
If that doesn't work you might try unplugging the ICP to see if there's oil in the plug or if it will start with it unplugged.
You said the HPOP was dry and you left the truck running so it was sitting for just a short amount of time 5 minutes or so but had quit running? If so the reason your truck died is obvious, No HPO no injector firing, bu tthe reason the HPOP reservoir was dry needs to be addressed first. One of three things. Low engine oil (did that once with a real bad leak), faulty oil pickup line for the main engine oil pump, or faulty main engine oil pump. figure out why your HPOP res went dry then get it started again, it may take a while to get the air out of the system but it should at least run rough after a couple of cranks.
i KNOW YOU SAID YOU HAD FUEL, sorry about the caps, but if you sdont have a fuel pump, to push it, will it drain out of the fuel bowl? have you checked the fuel pump
Did you check the fuel reset switch on the pass. side kick panel? It might be tripped.. Also, you said you checked the fuses.. did you check both under the hood and under the dash fuse boxes?
