I just bought a 97 PSD with an automatic. The shift indicator in the dash seems to be out of time. Shifting feels and works fine, but when it is in drive the indicator points at like 1st or somthing. Anyone had to fix that problem?
Unfasten the lower portion of the steering column cover. You don't need to completely remove it, just loosen it enough to pull the right side down to expose a thumb-wheel screw. Mine is black.
Place the gear selector lever in the gear you want. Turn the thumb-wheel clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the needle indicator. Move the gear selector lever through all gear positions to ensure you have the correct adjustment.
When you have the needle adjustment where you want it, tighten the steering column cover screws and you're done.
