When I go to open the water sep.(not the water drain, where the filter element is located) is fuel going to be pouring out if it?
Anyone have problems with start up after they have done the fuel filter.
I have the info on how to do it from the Tech. Folder.
I have done fuel filters before but never on a diesel.
Thanks.

Prepare for some to pour out, but not gallons. Use the aluminum foil trick to channel the spillage AND to keep everything (cap and new filter) clean when being re-installed. I have an oil drain pan under it all and the aluminum foil directs it to the drain pan. Use the "key-on" procedure to purge the air out before restart.
But regardless of the tricks used to drain the fuel into the drain-pan, you will get some running down your arm, clear up to the pit. Just tell your wife its your new cologne!
I always wear safety goggles when changing the fuel filter underneath the truck. Don't want that stuff in your eyeballs.
Now Diesel fuel in your armpit, some in your hair... chicks dig Diesel!! Maybe not.
I always wear glasses when I work on my truck/jeep
I'll post some pics of the old filters. I was supposed to change them at 135K IM now at 150K heheh WHOOPS! I'm sure they look wonderfull
