Holy Macarroni!!

Yeah so I spelt that wrong in the title but oh well, lol.

So some of you my have seen a past post of mine about how my truck keeps falling apart on me. Littereally every time I fix something, something else breaks.

Well after spending lots of time over the past 8 months getting stuff fixed I think im home scott free and can fiannaly drive my nice truck with lots of shiney parts. Well, wishfull thinking........

The rear brake calpiers kept seizing up and I went through 2 extra sets on the rear before raybestos could finally get them right. It was nice though cause it was all under warranty and I got 2 new rotors out of it as well as new pads and of course the calipers. Amazing how fast 7600#s can stop now!

Then the trans starting slipping and doing some really strange things. I start thinking GREAT! Well at least its under warranty. So I take it back, they rebuild it. Test drive and tell me its still doing the same thing but I can take my truck back for now because they have to wait to get the new pump in so it would just sit the whole time and since it was already put back together they let me just take it until the part came in. Sweet. So I babied it for a week and a half until I could finally bring it back in. Well im not going to write the whole depressing timeline of how it went down ( was in thier bay for 6 days ) but it turns out that it wasnt the pump or the stator (??? I have no clue, this is just what i heard but they are new parts they put in there) so they had to tear into it again and it turned out that it was a warped accumulator body that was freezing the pistons/valves into the housing. So they get a new housing. all is well, but they said they still arent happy with it so they said they are installing the transgo tugger kit into it for free. WOW sweet i say! So they messed with it trying to get it perfect and I must say, holly crap does my truck hook. Actually it doesnt, it just rips through the gears like no other. Pretty awesome!!!

So I paid about $2300 for a trans rebuild a year ago and since then it has been rebuilt 2 times, had a bunch more new parts tossed in and the tugger kit. Wish the builder was a member here so I could pass on some mad rep points, lol.

Anyways just wanted to share cause I tell my wife this and shes just like " Ok so it didnt cost us any extra money right?" lol.

I feel like I just installed the DPTuner all over again, lol

Well it sounds like a pain on the timeline, but you definitely came out on the right side of the deal there.

Doug, glad to hear that you finally got it fixed. It's a pain having to wait while it is being worked on but after you got it back and it was fixed well, then it is worth it.

I swear my truck hates me!!!

Well I guess I spoke too soon. this morning I started towing my trailer (only 5500#s or so) and sure enough, wont shift out of second. At traffic lights it would slip into neutral and I would have to tap the gas pedal to get it to go back into first. WHAT A FREAKING HEADACHE. Im tired of having to drive my chevy work truck, thought it was supposed to be the other way around. Im really beggining to think my truck does not like me, haha.

So it went away on a flatbed to the trans shop. Im pissed my truck is back in the shop but I really feel bad for the trans shop, all this on thier dime and they tried being nice by putting in the tugger kit. Nothing worse working at a shop having something like this happen. especially the trans, although they are quick enough to get it in and out in 20 mins, still it sux. Is there a truck god that I should be praying too?

I will say though, after the intital excitement of having my truck back, that tugger kit is awesome. its shifts so so fast into each gear, there isnt even any pressure lost in the turbo. Caint wait to get it back for the third time in 3 weeks.

Mine did the same thing after a rebuild. The solenoid pack went out. It has worked great since they replaced it. They initially thought it was my PCM, so they ordered an $80 cable to fit our trucks to hook into their diagnostic equipment. That took a week to get in, but told them it was the pack fairly quickly. All replaced under warranty except for the time it sit waiting on the cable.
