I posted a subject a few months ago asking how many people were going to sell out of their Excursions because of the rising fuel prices. Not one person said they were. But now I see people left and right wanting to sell out. It's so sad this has happened in America.
I am not selling because of fuel prices, but I agree it is sad to see this happening to this country.
A lot of the Gold Limiteds were rental vehicles, but since this one has the towing mirrors it probably isn't, and you might very well have the towing package with the rear sway bar.
Be sure to jack the front wheels and check the ball joints and test for a vacuum leak in the 4WD by putting the heat on full on the floor, then putting it in 4wd. If there's a vacuum leak, then the heat will flip to the defrost vent.
I bought mine to go out west to Yellowstone with a 24' travel trailer. My 96 F250 Crewcab just does not have enough room for 6 comfortably for the 6000 mile round trip. I got an 03 V10 limited 4x4 with 66500 miles for $14,850. It is the right time to buy.
The Excursion and the asking price is NOT the issue right now.
I am afraid people are going to see where these fuel prices stop before investing in a large SUV like your Excursion. If fuel was a very stable $3.00 a gallon, I would give you $29,500 right now without question. With the strong possibility of diesel going to $6.00 a gallon I would have to pass on what I see as a good deal.

Im with you!! i wont sell my X no matter what! its sad that i have to pay 150+ to fill up my truck, and whats everyones answer? "get a smaller car" !*!*! PLEASE!!! drive something i dont like cuz they wanna charge a rediculous amount at the pump!!! ... its very sad, makes me angry and depressed every time i think about it. i love my country, but it is really letting me down right now. i think it should be helping its people more than it is right now

Happy hunting.
That's a nice one! I bet you they took it in on trade for probably 16K. My Mom is the secretary of the owner at a local ford dealer and she has a wholesaler looking for one at auctions. I am hoping to pick it up super cheap! Last week they had 5 but he said they were trashed. How sad is that??? He will call me tomorrow at another auction and we will see. He has a tech check them out before he will buy it.
I just put 29.5 gallons in the Ex at 4.50/gal. :-( Even though I hardly drive the beast I figured I would fill it up now since diesel isn't getting any cheaper. But I won't be selling it. I only have another 12 years and it will be a classic!
Dad always used to say "It costs just as much to keep the tank full as it does empty!" I am trying to fill mine before it hits half-tank. Last week, no such luck!! It took nearly 30 gallons. But I'll not be giving it up. Making a trip this weekend to Santa Barbara for the daughter's 25th birthday, and will have 3 adults and 2 teenagers riding there, and another teen and 9 YO coming back. We'll all fit comfortably in the Ex, and there are not a lot of vehicles that can make that claim!!! I'm keeping mine!!!
I always wanted a EXCURSION Limited 4x4 but im still making payments on my 2005 Super Duty. You guys & Gals think Ford will ever bring the Excursion back?

I just had a customer in my tire store the other day looking at an '05 Limited PSD with 15K on it for $39,000. It was supposedly immaculate with 6-inch lift etc. He actually came in to see what it would cost to lower it back down because his wife didn't like the lift. There's buyers out there, just be patient. Like most of you, we're keepin' ours. Can't be beat for road trips.
