Automatic Trans Steering Column

Hey, I have a 1966 Econoline Pickup and was just wondering if anyone has swapped out the 3 speed manual steering column for an automatic steering column? Just got the 302/C4 installed Saturday. I have been talking to Flaming River and Ididit, both say it would be a custom column and cost a lot more than I have.

Thanks

The steering colum, shaft, and box are one assembly. If you find a 60-66 econoline colum for an automatic you can do it.

Maybe mount an aftermarket floor shifter on the front of the doghouse, under the dash or build a console. You could possibly use one of the current shift rods, 2nd & 3rd, to the auto. You just wouldn't have any gear indicator.
