Cold idle issue

Cold idle issue

Could use some help since I don't have a diagnostic reader, I'm open to suggestion on a cold idle problem. My 1993 3.0 Ranger idle will go up and down on a cold start, almost to a stall, for maybe a minute or two before settling down. I can keep it steady with the accellerator until it warms up a bit. There are no other symptoms. The throttle plate is free. It runs like a champ with 180k on it. Causes for this?

haha i know what you are going through. I replace my fuel filter on mine and it seemed to stop it.

hmm it seems that i cant edit the next day(?)

owell you could also try to clean the MAF sensor to or maybe even a new air filter ?

Thanks for jogging the brain cells. The last Plug and wire change was 90k miles ago. Think it's time to replace all of the consumables. If the trouble persists I can go to Advance Auto to pull codes.
