200 ford V 10 headers,, question

hey all, I am new to this site, I have a 2000 ford super duty 4x4 with the v10 and an auto trans,

about once a year I go thru a set of exhaust manifold gaskets, its getting expensive, I was thinking of throwing a set of headers on her. maybe to get rid of the heat faster.

My question is this, I looked at some and they look like they are direct replacement from the manifold to the header ,, asin maybe they use the same pipes??

I used to put them on the older cars,[back when I was young and liked the noise} and thge had collectors and you needed a whole exhaust to fit them,, has this changed?

can I basically bolt these onto the existing exhaust pipes coming from the manifolds?

I really am not looking for any more HP,, although more would be nice, I am not looking for a loud truck either, just trying to get away from replacing gaskets every year,, any thoughts ? pat

Picture here, not sure about using stock head pipe.

Is the exhaust manifold gasket issue widespread? Any other fixes?

Not sure the link will take you straight to your headers, but you can put your specifics in and the chrome option has a pic.

Go to the V10 forum and search for the header topic. There's lot's there. You might also consider another less restrictive y-pipe while you're at it. Exhaust gasket failures as you describe, are not common.
