Yes.. more or less, but you need to change a few things. What tranny does your truck have?

OK... but you'll have to be more specific. What is the tranny code on the driver's door pillar? If you have an AOD then you'll have an easier time finding a computer for it, if you have an E4OD you need a specific computer, and if you have a 4R70W you're SOL because the 5.8 was never offered with that tranny.

I can't find any reference to trans code "T", are you sure that's the right letter? What is the tranny code from the parts truck? In your '90, do you have a button to turn off OD on the shift lever or dash?

The 351 will drop in and bolt up.. as long as you have the right flex plate. I can't stress how important it is that you determine exactly what tranny you have in your '90, if you use the wrong flexplate you'll destroy the tranny before it even leaves the driveway, trust me on this, been there, done that.
You'll also need to use the Y-pipe from the 5.8 motor(unless you run duals) because the bigger Windsor is wider.

crawl under it and see if the pans are the same. or look for differances.

oh and judging by the years these trucks are im gonna gamble and say he has Two AOD's... (when were the new ones available in trucks?)

I have a question is he changing the computer bc of the firing order being differnt. STD on a 5.0 as to a 351 (H.o) order. bc if thats the reason all he would need to do is find a mustang computer. but he has the whole truck . god I love having a manual in my truck. knowing all I would have to change is the flywheel to match the balance..

just swap engine and trans. then change the computer saves you from the potential 16 quart atf mess gonna be made. and thats just one truck . if you dont need the drive shaft off one Knock the U-joints out and you have a plug fro the rear of the trans so it wont spill out the tail. but you wilkl have to secure it.

To install the 5.8 you just need the flexplate for a 5.8/AOD combo.

The 5.0 computer will run the 5.8, but not as well as it should because it's calibrated for the 5.0 and does't know you have substituted a 5.8. After some time it will learn to adjust to the 5.8 but you may still have pinging under load or other issues. If it turns out the tranny in the donor truck is a 3-speed C6 then you can use the computer out of it.
