My son's '99 F-150 recently had a tie-rod end fall apart while manuevering in a parking lot. (passenger side, outer) He replaced all ball joints and tie-rod ends less than two years ago. The tie-rod end had no play or slop, it just fell apart. The brand was TRW and Murrays Auto Parts replaced it under their lifetime warranty. It is very disconcerting to me that this happened and I wanted to let others know.
tie rod ends dont just fall apart. why did it happen? bolt break? nut fell off? ball pulled out of the socket? im sure TRW would be very interested in WHY?
