Pat Ford sold the nationals. The show will be opened up to all Ford cars and trucks.I think that will be the end of it for me.Nothing at all against Ford cars but I liked having a truck only show.I am hoping that the Pigeon Forge show really takes off as that is where I will be.
That's what made the show special, it was limited to F1 and f100 trucks and a few others showed up. I guess I won't be needing to fly to Tennessee anymore, I can see Fords here on the West coast. I should of went this year. Too late now. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, wayne. I can only do one show, so I chose the one in Pigeon Forge. I too am hoping it takes off really good. I miss the old days when it was in Pigeon Forge. I've been goin since '93. I know there are alot of folks who've been goin since the beginning and have really seen changes and NOT for the better.
The last few years the show has really been goin down hill, and this is the last straw for me. I'm hoping to meet some of you cats in Pigeon Forge in June. I hope to drive Pegysu, but I am not sure I'll have it back together then or not?
I don't mind seeing some cars--and it is still all FORD ,correct? Anyway was the turnout and trip worth going/ I mean with gas the way it is. I am glad to hear last chance 56 made it,and did he win a frame???? cool. Mr 4speed looks like he is coming of age,and good to see him there. Did any of these guys drive their trucks? Bill
I've never been to any of the big shows down there, butsometimes too big is just that....too big. Back to the 50's in the twin cities is too big for me. I would like to pull up close, get out, walk around, have time to talk with the owners, and move on with admiration. Then again, cruise nights would be great, unfortunately there aren't (m)any around here.
The last 3 or 4 years shows that the Supernats is on the downslide. Smart of Pat to sell it. I guess selling it means the name and related items ref to "Supernats"....

It's sad to read stuff like this. 21 years of attending the show is dedication. It's sad that a great show like this has to turn south. I hope this hobby continues to stay alive.

The hobby is alive and well, just changing. I'm all for change when change is needed. Pat Martin (head show judge) said it best "it's sad to think it's come to the end". The new owners, E.T. Promotions, have there own judging staff and will no longer use Pat Martin and he's people. Just one of the changes that will be taking place. There will be more. Just my 2 cents in CHANGE.

I was down at the F100 Supernationals for my first time. Show was nice and I'm glad I went. It seems to be much the same in recent years, but I've only seen the show in magazines before this. I'm seriously thinking about planning an all truck show up around Ohio somewhere. I'm in Akron, so that would be easier. My question that would really help me start to plan an event is this: What specifically did you like about the show in Knoxville (or previous years in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg). What did you dislike. F100 Central is my hobby and a fun business. I also have a small advertising agency, so we might just be the guys to put an event on. If this should be another thread, let me know and I'll repost it. Seems fitting though.
F100 Central, you need to talk with Ed, (edsF100). He's the one who organizes and sets up the Western Nationals here on the west coast. He would be able to tell you exactly what you need, as their event is aways a success. I can't speak for the Supernationals because I've never been there. As for the Western Nationals. My favorites are the vendors (F100 related), the music (DJ), the raffles and prizes each year are outstanding. I don't want to be negative because Ed's a friend of mine, but good food is essential to a good time, the western nationals lacks on food and beverages. Otherwise, if you put a show on like that and the Supernationals, I think you'll have a winner. With you owning F100 Central, I'm sure you could put on one heck of a raffle! Ohio is closer to CA than Tenn. I think? Heck the boys from Orange County Pickups limited made a truck run from CA to Tenn for the Supernationals. I don't see why they can't make Ohio. I'd attend!
I agree with all about Supernationals not being to super; the Pigoen Forge F100 show dates are the 19-21st of June in Pigeon Forge. I miss talking face to face to Bill (Number Dummy on Saturday @ Supernationals), I called him on the cell, and he was very disappointed in the show, I guess comparing it to Westernnationals.(I've never been); I would agree with somone flying from Cal to N.C and with these day's expenses show's need to provide more. THe E.T. promotion up the entry fee to $40 prior to 15 March then $50 bucks.
Did enjoy talking with the Deleware FTE boy's on Saturday though.
I go to the 'Shades of the Past' every year in Pigeon Forge. The show is good but the best part is that everybody cruises up and down the strip each night and park along the strip with 'for sale' signs in the windshield. I just love it. It is by far the most enjoyable large show I go to every year and I attend 2 or 3 Goodguys, NSRA Nats in Louisville and sometimes take in the hot rod reunion in Bowling Green KY......and there is endless shopping for the girls. What more can you ask for!.....
