When the switch is in the OFF or MAX/AC position there should be full vacuum to the heater control valve.

Rockledge hit it right on the head. Usually they don't have problems as they are relatively simple... You having troubles with yours?

yeah mine has no vacuum ever. My high side goes up to 450 and cuts itself out. I changed the orifice tube and vacuumed and recharged and it does the same thing. Where should the air blow out at on max ac mine blows out the defrost on max. The ac doesnt really work untill the fan clutch kicks in untill then it just gets kicked out by the high pressure switch. The heater control valve prolly doesnt have anything to do with it but it doensnt have any vacuum and i was wondering why. My condenser is a bit bent up from bugs but it does have some air flow, so it should be working with the fan clutch off right.
