Ordering Auto Meter A-Pillar gauges (triple) and trying to figure out what order to put them in. What position is the easiest to read? I was looking at putting the pyro in the easiest to read position, then the boost and finally the trans temp. I am looking at doing the gauge mount for the DP-Tuner that will come after that (5" exhaust at same time as gauges).
if you need glasses to read you may find that the pyro is better on the bottom or second to the bottom, I had pyro at the top and it was kinda blurry to me...it all boils down to personal choice IMO..I have w/ a 4 pillar gauge set DP gauge (easy to reach) trans (doesn't move fast) pyro then boost.
I am going to do Top: Pyro, Center: Boost, Bottom: Trans Temp. Seems a logical order. If I do the DP-Tuner on the gauge, is it better left (outside) or right (intside) on the pod? Seems that the left side exposes it to damage more, but is easier to reach.
I'm my turbo import I have my boost gauge on top and the A/F on the bottom. The boost is so easy to read, I think in the 7.3 I'm going to go with the pyro on top as that is the most important. Probably should change my car around so that the A/F is on top as it's a lot easier to read there.
The Pyro is definitely the most active gauge by FAR. And for boost levels......depends if you have a Chip/Tuner or not. With a DP....you can get upwards of 30psi.....in stock form you will probably get to levels in the 18-20psi range unless towing. Keep in mind.....your turbo won't like seeing levels of 26psi and above for long periods....not a good thing.
I'm taller, so I put the pyro on top and boost in the middle since thats around eye level. The trans temp is on the bottom since it moves the least and isn't checked as often as the other two.
