Washing and Detailing

I like having a clean truck sometimes. Occasionally, just to make sure that the paint is still all there and all. And since I've had the truck for 364 days now., I figure I owe it some love. So I'm about to go spend three hours of my life (and a sizeable part of my weekly beer ration) actually getting all the dead bugs off the front end, cleaning the inside of all the windows, and maybe even cleaning up the wheels etc. I'm overjoyed. Usually I only wash off the mud and crap, so I'm behind on the details. My usual standard is "do I get dirtier when I get in?" and is sometimes upgraded to "can I actually read the display?" I work the truck, and usually don't really care enough to do anything to it, past not letting it get cosmetically damaged for stupid reasons.

Does anyone regularly take the time detail out their truck? Or are most people like me, and just make sure that it's clean enough to not disgust people.

I usually detail mine at least once a week... wax it about once a month... and wash it a few times a week... when you own your own business it's always better to have a clean truck and equipment, makes you look more professional.

Wax mine every 2 months, wash every weekend, or when needed, and clean interior as soon as it gets dirty so it doesn't get bad. I like my truck to be nice and clean.

I try to wash/detail it once a week, wax every few months depending how lazy im feeling. My only problem is the darn birds takin a dump on my truck before I'm even done washing it . That or it rains the same day or day after I wash .

I'm sorry.....but I just can't handle that detailing stuff. In the words of my father..."it's a dang truck, treat the thing like one!"

They are trucks and meant to be used, but should also clean up nicely. I use Griot's Garage products, only the finest for my rigs. Ck out their site. Truly amazing. Pay special attention to their "Random Orbital" Buffer. It will NOT burn your paint or leave swirls. And their "Paint Selant" lasts 1 Year, that's twice as long as Wax!
