I've taken apart the holleys that came with my 3 deuce setup and am rebuilding. Have gotten some good info from various sources on the hows and whys of going through the process and am keeping track of all of it for a tech article. The two end carbs are 2100 AA-1s and have a little rust in the throttle body. Am cleaning that carefully and lapping the throttle plates for a net fit in the bores. My main carb is an EC ... the cast id plate info has been ground away. My question concerns the choke for this carb. Does anyone know what type it is? My assumption is that it is connected to a heat riser setup of some kind. Does this sound right? Also, I have removed the fast idle cam and the two pieces of choke linkage from the end carbs. Since the choke plates are removed, shaft and all, is there any need to plug the holes that remain where the shafts went? One of the end carbs was missing an internal bowl vent... I'm assuming that this must be replaced. These may seem like some pretty basic questions, but I'm not getting answers from my other sources.... If there are some carb gurus on the board I sure could use the help. Thanks, Pete
Pete, I have a 3x2 setup from Vintage Speed and they plugged the holes left from the removed choke plate shafts. My center carb has linkage for a manual choke. Vintage Speed sells all parts for rebuilding these carbs and can give you info on 3x2 setup. They can be contaced at www.vintagespeed.com
