Header installation

I have a 64 F250 and i recently came into a set of sanderson headers for the Y block 292. The guy i purchased the headers from said he had bought them for his T-Bird with a 312. He couldnt make them fit because the steering box was to crowded to squeeze by. I went and took the one for the drivers side and kind of set it in there to see how it would fit. It looks like it will clear the oil filter fine but my problem is the steering box and springs, linkage going to it. I dont know if it will fit over the crossmember or not. I still have the original crossover hooked up and it goes over the crossmember fine on the passenger side with lots of room. Now the crossmember sits higher up then the axle, for clearance but would this not be a wise move to run the pipe like that. Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.
By the way I think this is the best Ford site on the web. The information i get on this site is fantastic. Everyone is so helpful, so heres two thumbs up for everyone who makes this site happen.
