Fuse #41

My 2002 F350 Super Duty Diesel Burned fuse #41 (which protects dash board gages and electronic acceleration pedal) three different times in the past. It always worked fine after I replaced it. This time the fuse is OK, but my dashboard gages are dead and acceleration pedal does not responds (engine idles only) every thing else works fine. What is the problem, did anyone had this before?
Thanks.

Was the fuse melted or "blown" out? An overload will cause the fuse to just melt. A short wil cause it to be blown out and kinda black.

Ok you have a short some where. These can be really tough to find. one way id to take a 12V light (like a landscape light) attach a couple of pieces of wire to it, crimp a male spade stake on to the ends. Plug these into the fuse panel. If it is a dead short the light will be lit. Just start moving the wires around and look for chaffing. When the light goes out you have located the short. You may want to try and disconnect the wires of the accelerator. to see if that is your cause.

Oh and sorry for my lack of manners.....Welcome to FTE!!

Welcome to FTE. Since the fuse is supposed to protect the wiring I'd double check the fuse with a test light to make sure you're getting power across both sides. You might try unplugging the TPS, replacing and wiggling the new fuse to see if you can get the dash lights to return.

I haven't heard of too many wiring problems with the dash assembly, but have read of a few TPS going bad. If you can get the dash lights to work with the TPS unplugged, and they go out again when it's plugged back in, or the pedal is pushed you've at least narrowed it down to the TPS or it's wiring.
